THE PADDLE SONG
Our paddles keen and bright, flashing
like silver.
Swift as the wild goose flight, dip, dip and swing.
Dip, dip and swing them back, flashing
like silver.
Swift as the wild goose flight, dip, dip and swing.
Like a lot of other camp songs, this makes and excellent round. Also, bear
in mind the story that goes with this song. It was supposedly sung by voyagers
in the Old Northwest. These trappers and traders would sing to keep the rhythm
of their paddling. Try to make the song sound like a group of canoes approaching
a town, drawing abreast, and then passing off into the distance. This can be
done by having the group sing it through five times, starting off softly, peaking
at the third time, and then fading off at the end of number five.

PATSEY OREY OREY AY
Chorus
Patsey orey orey ay.
Patsey orey orey ay.
Patsey orey orey ay.
Working on the railroad.
Eighteen hundred and sixty
one, the Union railroad just begun.
The Union Railroad just begun.
Working on the railroad.
CHORUS [after each verse]
Eighteen hundred and sixty two, found
myself with nothing to do.
Found myself with nothing to do, working on the railroad.
Eighteen hundred and sixty three, the Union Railroad hired me.
Eighteen hundred and sixty four, found my back was mighty sore...
Eighteen hundred and sixty five, found myself more dead than alive...
Eighteen hundred and sixty six, found myself some dynamite sticks...
Eighteen hundred and sixty seven, found myself on the way to heaven...
Eighteen hundred and sixty eight, found myself at the pearly gates...
Eighteen hundred and sixty nine, found
myself on cloud nine...

PAW PAW PATCH
CHORUS
Picking up paws paws. Put 'em in the basket.
Picking up paws paws. Put 'em in the basket
Picking up paws paws, put 'em in the basket.
Way down yonder at the paw paw patch.
Where oh where oh where is Suzy?
Where oh where oh where is Suzy?
Where oh where oh where is Suzy?
Way down yonder at the paw paw patch. CHORUS
Think I'll go and try to find her.
Think I'll go and try to find her.
Think I'll go and try to find her.
Way down yonder at the paw paw patch. CHORUS
Come on boys, help me find her.
Come on boys, help me find her.
Come on boys, help me find her.
Way down yonder at the paw paw patch. CHORUS

PINK PAJAMAS
CHORUS
Glory glory, hallelujah.
Glory glory, hallelujah.
Balmy breezes flowing through you.
With nothing on at all.
I wear my pink pajamas in the summer
when its hot.
I wear my flannel woolies in the winter when its not.
And sometimes in the springtime and sometimes in the fall,
I jump between the sheets with nothing on at all. CHORUS
This song is sung to the tune of
"The Battle Hymn of the Republic" and is a fun one that takes few program clothes.

A PIZZA HUT
A Pizza Hut, a Pizza Hut,
Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Pizza Hut.
A Pizza Hut, a Pizza Hut,
Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Pizza Hut.
McDonald's, McDonald's,
Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Pizza Hut.
McDonald's, McDonald's,
Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Pizza Hut.
There are hand motions that accompany this song and they are meant to be
forming, respectively, a triangular Pizza Hut roof, a chicken flapping its wings
and the shape of the letter M. This song should be sung through several times,
with each successive time around being faster. Whenever I think of this song
I think of John Knapstein. I really don't know why.

POLLY WENT AWADING
Polly went a-wading and she got her
toesies wet.
Polly went a-wading and she got her toesies wet.
Polly went a-wading and she got her toesies wet.
But she didn't get her (clap-clap) wet, yet.
Polly went a-wading and she got her
ankles wet.
Polly went a-wading and she got her ankles wet.
Polly went a-wading and she got her ankles wet.
But she didn't get her (clap-clap) wet, yet.
Polly went a-wading and she got her calvesies wet...
Polly went a-wading and she got her kneesies wet...
Polly went a-wading and she got her thighsies wet...
Polly went a-wading and she finally
got it wet.
Polly went a-wading and she finally got it wet.
Polly went a-wading and she finally got it wet.
Yes she finally got her swimsuit wet, yet.
