Run #1 – Patricroft? Where the heck is Patricroft?
I got off my morning train to work at Patricroft, the station before Eccles. From there I ran along the Bridgewater Canal, past the Barton aquaduct swing bridge, and on to Stretford Marina.
From there I retraced the Canal 10k route back to Castlefield Basin then on to Oxford Road before ending up at the Greenhouse Cafe for the monthly UMRun Rundezvous free breakfast.
I misjudged the weather, not realising how cold it would be. Because of this I only had a t-shirt on and because my nipples were hard with the cold I ended up rubbing the skin off their tips and getting blood on my top. This necessitated a trip to the shop to buy some sticking plasters so I didn’t bleed all over the front of my work clothes!
The moral of the story is that it’s better to have too many layers and to have to take one off than to not have enough and end up getting cold and sore!

Run #2 – UMRun Thursday lunchtime: Five parks, five runners
I only decided late in the morning to do this run. I wasn’t sure if it would be too much after this morning’s long run before breakfast. As it turned out I felt fine running.
