This morning I went to Fountains Abbey parkrun with my Dad. We were over in Yorkshire on a short break so I took the opportunity of visiting what many people describe as one of the most beautiful parkrun courses in the UK.
And they are right! It really is beautiful. The run starts in front of the Abbey and does a small loop followed by a larger loop around the water gardens. If we hadn’t been heading home afterwards I’d have walked back round at a more leisurely pace and taken some photos!
The course is gently undulating with the finish section uphill. Despite this I ran 20:55 which is only 6 seconds slower than my PB of 20:49 set at the flat Croxteth Hall parkrun at the beginning of May.
