Last month I was put in touch with Fawaz Ghali by Simon from Alzheimer’s Research UK. Fawaz is running a marathon distance every day for 30 days. He started last Sunday so this was Day 8.
He does a different route on each day of the week. His weekday runs start at 5am and his Saturday and Sunday runs start at 6am.
I’d promised to join him on at least part of one of his runs and chose today. So I set my alarm clock early – 5.25am – and headed out of the door after 6am, ran to Sefton Park and joined him for a couple of laps before heading back to The Mystery for junior parkrun.
What’s amazing is that Fawaz didn’t start running until June last year, and has since run lots of races including a 100km ultra marathon!
If you’d like to support him you can find his JustGiving page here.
