I normally take the train to work but yesterday I drove instead. The plan had been to drive over to Yorkshire after work to stay with Sarah and Peter so I could run their home parkrun with them – Peter Pan parkrun – today.
I was just approaching the car park on Friday evening when Sarah contacted me to tell me that Peter Pan parkrun had been cancelled because the route was underwater. I could have still gone across and done a different parkrun but since the idea was to run Sarah’s home parkrun we decided to postpone.
So on Saturday morning I got a longer lie in than normal before dragging myself out to Princes parkrun for the 33rd time. It was a slow one because it was perishingly cold and my left knee was sore, so I plodded round at my own pace.
Congratulations to Tony Holmes who finished in 91st place and was the 100,000th finisher at Princes parkrun!
