Notes
Norris Green has a reputation for being a rough estate, but I went with an open mind. And it was all going so well until right at the end I came across the abandoned shopping trolleys.
There are a few green spaces on this part of the estate, but they’re not particularly well kept, and look somewhat underused because of it.
Not a lot to write home about really, apart from the fact that I’m really quite proud at having plotted my route and being able to follow it without missing any bits!
Addendum: Norris Green was named after the Liverpool-based Norris family of Speke Hall fame. Actor Tom Baker (the best Doctor Who) grew up in this area, as did Holly Johnson (Frankie Goes To Hollywood), Geoffrey Hughes (Coronation Street, Keeping Up Appearances), and Joe Royle (Everton Football Club). I took a photo of De La Salle Academy which boasts footballer Wayne Rooney and actor David Morrisey as notable alumni.
