Running north off Millstead Road there are two pedestrian streets – Olive Mount Walk and Millstead Walk. On 19th July 2020 when I ran all the roads round Olive Mount I inexplicably missed Millstead Walk so on the way to the physio this morning I took a tiny diversion to run this one street.
From Millstead Road it’s up hill to the top of Millstead Walk and Olive Mount Walk. At the top there’s a wall, and beyond that you can see the newer houses on Olive Mount Road. These houses stand on the site of Olive Mount Heights, three 38 metre, 14 storey blocks of flats. These were completed in 1965 and for over 40 years dominated the skyline until 2006 when they were demolished.
