Woo hoo!!! A new PB!!! Not only did I get under 21 minutes for the first time I did it by knocking a whopping 14 seconds off my previous PB.
This was only my second visit to Croxteth Hall parkrun, the first being in February 2018 when I had a horrible run due to the wooded section being a quagmire at the time.
This time I started at the front and felt really good running. I knew I was on for a fast pace but didn’t quite know how much faster I’d been until the official result came through.
It was nice to see my musical friend Jo Bywater volunteering at the end, giving out finish tokens. It was also nice to bump into Ian Headey at the refreshment table. Ian was the Assistant Scout Leader when I was a Scout in the 30th Picton Scout Troop back in the 1980s!
I spotted a number of photographers out on the course so I’ll be looking out for any photos of me. I only saw one other red 50 t-shirt so I should be easy to spot!
