Today I went to Alderford Lake with fellow parkrun tourism friend Jo Gibson.
Alderford Lake is near Whitchurch, just over the Cheshire border into Shropshire. This is the parkrun I was going to visit three weeks ago but it ended up getting cancelled while I was on the way so I went to Phoenix instead.
This is a really nice two lapper on grass and trail. It’s mostly flat with only slight undulations round the back of the lake. Because of the recent wet weather there was lots of mud that slowed everyone down. My trail shoes certainly got put through their paces!
This was only their 11th event and there’s a really nice community of runners from Whitchurch and beyond that are supporting it.
I managed to get my first ‘A’ for the Alphabet Challenge. I don’t know why I mentioned that because it’s not a challenge I’m actively chasing!
I did get my 46th number on Stopwatch Bingo though! I wonder how long it will take me to complete all 60.
