Notes

I stopped to look at two adjacent houses that looked really nice with plants and flowers. There was a woman sat outside one of the houses and we got chatting. She’s 78 and lived in the same street all her life. She told me about the time she and her neighbour had done up the back alley with plants, flowers, trellises and seating. She went into the house and brought out some photos in an album, plus a framed picture of her with Nick Knowles from the time The One Show visited to do a feature! I asked her what her name was so I could mention it, and she told me she was Audrey Roberts, George Harrison’s cousin! Serendipity is a wonderful thing!

I must have passed Alfred Street thousands of time and never been down it before. I have now!

Two residents at the end of Bannerman Street told me about their famous wall at the end. It used to be higher and had BILL SHANKLEY written in large letters along the top.

Golders Green has a small spire at one end and a large spire in the middle of a roundabout at the other end.

I looked to rent a ghost on Claypole Street. Lindley Street is the shortest road yet.

I rounded one corner and was hit by an amazing pizza smell. It turns out Pizzeria MIKI is run from someone’s back yard. The customer who was waiting said their pizza is fantastic. Will have to try it some time!

Discovered an allotment snook away between houses. No vacancies.

Cadogan Street has what must be one of the narrowest houses in the city!

Carno Street and Dunstan Street are both dead ends, cut off by the railway line. Carno Street has an extra house squeezed into the space at the end, whereas Dunstan Street has a lovely community green space available where houses have obviously been knocked down at some point in the past.
