I ran out along Brewster Street, turning back when I reached Liverpool’s boundary with Sefton. You can definitely see the join with the change in road surface and the return of grass to the central reservation.
I’ve mentioned the flyover before and how it cut a swathe right through Walton Village. To make space for it and the roundabout and underpass the town hall had to be demolished. They managed to save a section from the front of the building which is now stuck to the side of a modern building at the end of County Road. Dave Rogers has some old photos of the area before the flyover, and others of it being built in 1965. https://www.flickr.com/photos/waltononthehill/page2
Peering over the wall on Liston Street I was able to grab a couple of photos of the Huskisson Branch tunnel and cutting. The bridge I was on still has signs showing the bridge number as HUS 41.
I approached The Glebe pub from the side road and noticed that although it has a limestone front the building is actually brick-built.
The building on the corner of Hale Road and Roxburgh Street has a first floor door on the outside like the bakery building on Rice Lane.
There are two houses built on the outside of a curved section of Raskin Street where the entrances and front doors are squeezed in behind the narrow gap between the front of the two properties.

I’m running the Great North Run for the first time on Sunday 12th September, raising money for Alzheimer’s Research UK. My mum has Alzheimers so this charity is close to my heart. If you can spare a couple of quid to help me reach my target I would be extremely grateful.
