When I reached 50 different parkruns I took my foot off the touring pedal and decided to return to a local parkrun once a month. I’ll probably settle on the first parkrun of the month for this.

So this morning I headed out early to Knowsley parkrun. I’ve run Knowsley three times before, the first time on 14th July 2018, and the second time on 25th May 2019 which I ran with Richard and his niece Meghan.

Today I arrived nice and early, just as the team were arriving with the wheelie bin full of signs. I introduced myself and offered to help set up the course. When the signs and cones had been put out we returned to the start area. David, the Run Director on the day, knew I was planning on walking and asked if I’d be Tailwalker as the person who was on the rota for the job had phoned in poorly. So I donned the orange high-vis jacket and joined the team!

It was David’s 50th birthday and the other team members surprised him with a big balloon and a special birthday cape for him to wear.

The walkers at the back of the pack were moving at a good pace and we managed to finish in just over 47 minutes. Not bad at all!
