When I woke up at 5.15am I thought I’d set my alarm wrong because it was so dark outside. I looked out of the window and it was torrential rain. I thought about going back to bed but didn’t want to have to run in the rain at lunchtime so I put on my running gear and headed out.

There were only three people in The Mystery this morning, all runners.

There was the woman who’s out running every single day. We’ve got to the stage where she now reluctantly says ‘hi’ if I say ‘hi’ to her first as we pass each other running in opposite directions.

The other runner was a man who was obviously training for something. He said hello each time we passed!

I really need a new running jacket that’s actually waterproof. It was hardly worth wearing my current jacket because when I got home I was soaked to the skin.
