#everysinglestreet [01/08/21] Stanley Park Avenue North

This was my first #eversinglestreet run since 17th July and it was good to be back on the roads. Today’s route was a triangle formed by Walton Hall Avenue, Queens Drive, and Abingdon Road.  I’d planned to do Richard Kelly Drive too but thought that was a bit too far for my first run back.

I parked in the road next to the big Asda superstore. On Liverpool match days this place is heaving with cars looking for somewhere to part within walking distance of Anfield Stadium. On these occasions there are also groups of kids who’ll ask “Hey Mister, can I look after yer car?” in the hope that you’ll give them some money.

Ebenezer Chapel was built in 1926 and seems to still be going strong.

There’s a house at the end of Courthope Road with a curious looking recess at the side of the house with two arches and a column. I don’t know if it had an original purpose but it’s currently being used to store the wheelie bins.

I saw the sign for Wilberforce Road out of the corner of my eye and my brain read it as Wilberfarce…

Jennys Cafe is missing an apostrophe. Is that better or worse than having an apostrophe but in the wrong place?

Florence Melly Community Primary School is named after Florence Elizabeth Melly who founded it in 1927.

I love that the town planners put allotments in two large areas surrounded by houses when they could just have easily built extra roads and houses.

’Tis blackberry season!

Great North Run

I’m running the Great North Run for the first time on Sunday 12th September, raising money for Alzheimer’s Research UK. My mum has Alzheimers so this charity is close to my heart. If you can spare a couple of quid to help me reach my target I would be extremely grateful.
