My first #everysinglestreet contribution since 3rd August wasn’t actually a run. I was driving home from town and decided to walk the two roads on the Paddington Village site that were previously inaccessible while the surrounding building were being built.
Elm Grove goes up the hill from Smithdown Lane, swinging round to the right to become Albert Street.
It’s part of the new Paddington Village complex built on the site of the former Paddington Comprehensive School, which later became Archbishop Blanch School before they moved to their new building on Smithdown Road.
Paddington Village is part of the Knowledge Quarter surrounding the two main universities, and hosts The Royal College of Physicians, the Northern Centre of Excellence (in The Spine), Liverpool International College, The Rutherford Cancer Centre North West, plus office space, a car park, a 250 bed hotel, and an integrated heating system.

I’m running the Great North Run for the first time on Sunday 12th September, raising money for Alzheimer’s Research UK. My mum has Alzheimers so this charity is close to my heart. If you can spare a couple of quid to help me reach my target I would be extremely grateful.
